Language in Action

I want to speak you about schools in Ukraine. Ukranian children go to school at the age of 6. In Ukraine, schools begins on the first of September. And finish on the 25th of May. Ukrainian children have classes six day a week, so they go to school on Saturday too.
On the first form they have two foreign languages , there are English and Russian. The lessons start at 8.00 o´clock and finish at 14.00 o´clock. Their lessons are about 45 minutes one. Every day they have two pupils who are on duty at that day. They should stay at the class after the lessons to clean their classroom and blackboard.
Every class in Ukrainian schools has own classroom and every pupil has own place in the class. In the classrooms pupils have many flowers, flower-pots . And on the windows they have blinds.
On thre lessons pupils can not speak without autorization of teacher, so the lessons are very quetlies. The sistem or marks there is from 1 to 12.

Hello!!!

At first I wish to tell to you thanks for that that have commented on my blog. I am very happy that you liked it.
I too would think that such system of training would give to more responsibility to pupils. When I studied in the homeland, I was very loaded by the homeworks, different works. There was not enough free time, but nevertheless I have had time to study well and accepted an active fate in a life of my class. And I am very glad that I had all strictly at school, it very much will help me with the future and in the further study in Portugal.

Hey Lary!

I also remember you talking about this in class and it was very well presented I enjoy it very much. I also agree with our teatcher Conceição: I think it would no arm for us to be cleaning classrooms after classes. I also enjoy the pictures you bought. You were so different back then...

It was nice to read your post. ;) ,

The school system in Ukraine is very different from the Portuguese one, better in various aspects, such as discipline, responsibility and commitment. Maybe we should learn something from Ukraine's example.

I remember the day you talked about this in class and I remember that most of your clasmates were astonished with the fact that in Ukraine you need to do tasks that they would simply refuse to do here in Portugal. However, I thnk this would give them more sense of responsibility and their attitude towards school and everyhting related to it would probably change.
